From Salento the formidable voice of Maria Mazzotta skillfully interlaces with the strings of the Redi Hasa’s Albanian cello.
Ancestral and new solutions stamps for a bridge between the Balkans, Carpathians and Southern Italy.

Thanks to Maria Mazzotta and Redi Hasa, you are immediately catapulted into the dense and lively aromas of the Balkans. Their vocal and instrumental prowess leaves you dumbfounded, there is a perfect union and a great naturalness in the way they perform these melodically and rhythmically difficult pieces. Precious harmonic shades, together with an improvisatory slant, transmit a sense of freshness that continually renews itself.

Ludovico Einaudi

First project of an extraordinary duo that brings to light the possible ties between the repertories that sail across the Adriatic Sea, linking the Balkans and Carpathians with the regions of southern Italy.
The voice of Maria Mazzotta moves light and strong, rich of a thousand nuances among musical languages of the two Adriatic shores, while notes of Redi Hasa offer a thousand possible solutions together with traditional melodies.
Maria Mazzotta is a voice mentioning now not only in Italy. After the association with the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino and other groups warned the recovery of traditional heritage of southern Italy, Maria lives now in France and collaborated with several musical projects, between tradition and experimentation. Classical voice, sweet voice, aggressive voice, powerful voice ... it has no equal in Italy and a few elsewhere.
Redi Hasa is the cello more creative on the Adriatic, music between italic and Balkan side. Already the Bandadriatica pillar, now a close associate of Ludovico Einaudi, Redi builds on his Cello a "polyphony monostrumentale" which supports perfectly the voice of Maria Mazzotta – shades folk and most daring of the reinvention of tradition.

“We challenged the cold winter nights with offbeats, rhyming stanzas, the vibration of song. And so, note by note, the soul was set free playing between the vocal cords and the cello. We tried to mix music and language. From the plains of Southern Italy to the Balkans, all the way to Carpazi. It seemed like the usual challenge, a game of virtuosity but instead with those melodies and those rhythms we built a bridge – ura in Albanian – and we want to cross it together with you, now – ura in Salentino”.
