The long awaited follow-up to Karen's first solo album "The Dreaming Sea" has already stunned the critics. On "Time To Fall" Karen adds a new dimension to the voice that has won Capercaillie so many fans worldwide (and resulted in over 1 million album sales) - bringing a new depth to some outstanding contemporary material. There is a cool sophistication about the new album, thanks in part to some exceptional new material, half of it written by James Grant, whom many believe to be Scotland's most talented songwriter. In addition to the contemporary material there are two classic Gaelic tunes and a re-working of the Robert Burns song "Bonnie Jean".
Musicians featured on the album include several members of Capercaillie and other musicians associated with Vertical Records such as James Grant (guitars). Several tracks feature strings provided by the BT Scottish Ensemble (arranged by Kevin McCrae). One track features guest vocals from Tim O'Brien.
"soulful, sophisticated and subtly slow-burning" - grown-up music in the most alluring sense." Sunday Herald
