The Myth of Isis and her veil was for the Egyptians something like the veil of Maya and represented the illusory nature of the material world… a bit the opposite of what we tend to mythologize today: the illusoriness of the immaterial world. The veil of Isis is also similar to many others myths that different peoples have created (or should we rather say lived) in different times and places, driven probably by an individual or collective experience of transcendence of ego boundaries…who among us does not know what this feels like? What does it matter in the end what name we give to the myths we construct around it? Whenever the veil of Isis is torn, all that we have done and thought up to that moment becomes small and irrelevant, the boundaries of our habitual selves dilate and we feel ourselves stretch towards a whole that becomes inseparable. It’s impossible to sustain this look for long, as we soon return to our Cartesian axes and our life as is, but something, a memory remains, and we find ourselves asking which world is “the true one”, the one we usually frequent with its familiar certainties, or the one that interrupts our life every so often from beyond the veil, with its nostalgia for the impossible. In silence the veil can rest lowered for long years as we live distracted by “normal” life until we almost forget it even exists, until in an unexpected instant it suddenly rises and we find ourselves living a reality even more dazzling than anything we have imagined. Think about it, most often in these occasions there is music in the air, creating or at least collaborating in what is happening. If the music on this cd will have helped just one of you transporting you beyond the veil to taste even for a fleeting moment the experience of welcoming the uncontainable, then Kyle, Grabriele, Salvatore, Maria, Francesco, Fausto, Carlo and I will not have labored in vain.
