The DVD An Intimate Performance captures the amazing Ravi Shankar struggling with a beautiful classical ragas - "Rag Behag" - recorded live for the BBC in 1974. No other musician has managed better than Ravi Shankar to introduce and help the public appreciate the western Indian classical music concert and this DVD clearly demonstrates why. The notes of the sitar master's begin calm then developed an unexpected and incredible variety of rhythms and melodies also joined by Rakha Khan at tabla. The interplay between Shankar's sitar and Khan’s tabla is truly amazing.
