The famous composer and band leader from Rivarolo Mantua (Northern Italy) Gorni Kramer, born in the early years of the last century, is unquestionably a key link in the history of dance music in Italy. Michele MARINI and Daniele DONADELLI have reworked the vast repertoire and pay tribute to the master of which recur this year the centenary of the birth. Ballando Kramer (Dancing Kramer) presents itself as a unique work enriched by some original compositions by both musicians.


The famous composer and band leader from Rivarolo Mantua (Northern Italy) Gorni Kramer, born in the early years of the last century, is unquestionably a key link in the history of dance music in Italy. He binds indelibly our first waltz to jazz-swing from overseas and the Italian nostalgic songs of '30s and '40s. It was the era in which Alberto Rabagliati, Natalino Otto, Trio Lescano and Quartetto Cetra, to mention only some of the artists who have contributed to spread and make known the compositions of the master Kramer, impose on the radio a musical revolution. Characterized by considerable vocal skills evident in the refined harmonies of the songs, they were able, with simplicity and popularity, to transmit the inspiration of the composer, marked not only by the culture of Emilian dance music, but also by the unmistakable rhythmic jazz and swing arrived with the orchestras that played on the transatlantic boats.
Michele MARINI and Daniele DONADELLI have reworked the vast repertoire and pay tribute to the master of which recur this year the centenary of the birth.
This record of the series Tacadancer (Start to dance) contains tunes taken from the musical heritage given to us by Gorni, eclectic and versatile, conductor, accordion player, producer, composer, arranger and author of no less than 1,057 songs stored, including the world-famous: Domenica è sempre domenica (Sunday is always a Sunday), Pippo non lo sa (Pippo does not know), Un bacio a mezzanotte (A Kiss at Midnight) and Valzer blu (Blue Waltz). Ballando Kramer (Dancing Kramer) presents itself as a unique work of its kind, because it also contains previously unreleased tracks composed by both musicians. Among these you can listen to Richard and Dania's waltz, the first a virtuoso homage to Richard Galliano, praising the elegant and refined hues of the waltz musette, the second a song with a Mediterranean flavor, seductive and rhythmically swirling, boasting the use of the cajón, a tool percussion of Peruvian origin. Among the originals will also be interesting to find out India Tango and Silenzi assordanti (Deafening Silences), which draw to a more modern and experimental creative landscape, away from the music of the master and which leave the listener space to create their own emotional imaginary.
