Mistral, is the result of three years of work and the natural evolution of the three previous albums by La FRONTERA: La musica dei Popoli ( 2001), Mar Bianco (2004), and Ferme tes yeux (2008), studying intensively Mediterranean musical tradition with a repertoire consisting of classics from the flamenco, Arab, Ottoman, Andalusian and Sephardic musical traditions and of original compositions.
The quartet is characterized by its original line up: accordion, guitar and flamenco voice, viola and violin, percussion, creating an unique blend.

Their concerts are a fascinating sound experience characterized by the strong stage presence of the French singer and accordionist Miranda Cortes, the pathos of the flamenco guitar of Michele Pucci, the viola and violin flamenco cantaor Michele Sguotti, the varied percussion of Lorenzo Abu Gasperoni, who jointed the band in 2012, further enriching the sound of the group.

The result is an original sound identity with original compositions and traditional songs inspired by Arab-Andalusian music, born between centuries IX and XV during the Arab occupation of Andalusia in the extreme south of Spain.
