The TAAN trio formed at the end of 2017 through Turra's will to test the strength of his own repertoire, until then only performed in a solo tour introducing his Filmworks album (Felmay, 2017), through the well-established practice of the guitar/bass/drums trio.

After It is preferable not to travel with a dead man album released at the end of 2017, ALBERTO N.A. TURRA reaffirms the importance of the impro practice caught in the moment of its highest power of expression: the concert, here introduced by his own tour. The TAAN trio formed at the end of 2017 through Turra's will to test the strength of his own repertoire, until then only performed in a solo tour introducing his Filmworks album (Felmay, 2017), through the well-established practice of the guitar/bass/drums trio.
After the long It is preferable 2018 tour, that brought the TAAN Trio playing both in Italy and in the US, a lingering need overcame Turra to give tangible testimony to the depth that these three musicians had reached while exploring themes of improvisation, syncretism through languages, cultures and their own avantgardes, interplay and rituality. All these topics together are the very core of Turra's thought and routine from Azimut to It Is Preferable tnot travel with a dead man both from Felmay records, passing through Spiritsongs with Shanir Ezra Blumenkranz and Brian Marsella (Setola di Maiale, 2016).
The perfect occasion was the concert in the beautiful setting of the Easy Nuts Lab, recording studio and multidisciplinary artistic venue of Roberto Zanisi. Thanks to Maurizio Nardini and Roberto Zanisi himself, the conditions of a live recording were of the best possible level. The result is this album that Turra describes as "the essential tribute and thanks to talent, care and sensitivity that this two fiends, William and Stefano, spent reinterpreting, rehearsal after rehearsal, concert after concert, a music that I would never have believed could be sculpted and transfigured to such intensity.”

Thus when listening it's possible to hear echoes of two milestones of "trio playing" (if not even archetypes) Frisell/Driscol/Baron trio and the album Bright Size Life by Metheny/Pastorius/Moses, with an add of " aggravating factors" such as a certain use of live electronics, a versatile writing and improvisation and a massive dose of jazz-core. The result of these ingredients is a sound experience of both physical and emotional strong impact. Like a ritual.

ALBERTO N.A. TURRA, guitarist, composer and arranger, has been active in the Italian music scene for more than ten years. He has spent many years playing guitar onstage in a wide range of projects (Shanir Blumenkranz, Roy Paci-Corleone, Pierpaolo Capovilla, Mamud Band Giovanni Venosta, Diego Mancino, just to name a few), and composing for theater and contemporary dance.

The last few years have been very prolific for TURRA, especially with regard to motion picture music, such as the documentary by Francesco Fei Giovanni Segantini: Return to Nature, played by Filippo Timi, and The Origins Of Music by Mexican filmmakers Daniel Arvizu and Sam Madrigal. Felmay has developed an intense and ongoing relationship with Alberto TURRA, taking part in various projects (Mamud Band, Giovanni Venosta, TurboGolfer, Filmworks (Felmay 2017), an anthology of Turra’s significant original compositions commissioned for movie soundtracks.
