Paolo Bonfanti, extraordinary blues guitarist, and Martino Coppo, mandolin maestro, sign their second sparkling album, in the footsteps of Americana genre. Pracina Stomp includes excellent original compositions and some covers, all recorded at Cascina Pracina, in the woods of Alto Monferrato, Northern Italy. In this magical atmosphere Paolo & Martino have accomplished a small musical miracle built with unquestionable virtuosity, heart and good vibes.
The signature of the production is by Larry Campbell, an American music legend, winner of three Grammy Awards.
An album of great depth that will remain in the annals of this musical style, a must for all fans and fascinating for every good music lover.

Since 1985 Paolo BONFANTI and Martino COPPO have crossed their musical paths on different occasions, up to the decision to set up a duo in which to pour all their versatility and common musical passions. In 2014 they recorded their first CD Friend of a Friend (Felmay fy 8213) very well received by critics and audiences.
And here we are at PRACINA STOMP, their new and sparkling album, inspired by Americana genre, a music that incorporates various root styles (folk, blues, bluegrass, country ...) combined to create an original and typical sound, albeit respectful of traditions.
The new album is made up almost entirely of excellent original compositions: more oriented towards the blues (I Kinda Like It, Over's Under) or to American songwriting (You Were Right, Nowhere) those written by Paolo, closer to the bluegrass (Anniversary Reel, Pracina Stomp, Visa Application Blues) those written by Martino. And there is still room for exciting ballads in collaboration with other authors: Slow Dance with David Weatherford, Cold Dark Grave with Silvio Ferretti and For What It’s Worth with Christoffer Olsson.

The album was produced by legendary musician and producer LARRY CAMPBELL. As a producer Larry has won three Grammy Awards for Levon Helm's (The Band) latest records and has put his signature on the albums of The Dixie Hummingbirds, Hot Tuna, David Bromberg, Jorma Kaukonen, Happy Traum and many others. As a musician he was part of Bob Dylan band for eight years and played on tour with Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris, Phil Lesh, Little Feat, Hot Tuna, Jackson Browne ...
Recordings took place at Cascina Pracina, in the woods of Alto Monferrato, Northern Italy. In the past it was a tradition that the rural community would meet in this farm on Saturday night to make music, eat, drink and have fun. And so it was also for these sessions.
In this magical atmosphere Paolo & Martino have accomplished a small musical miracle built with unquestionable virtuosity, heart and good vibes. Assisted by the brilliant production of Campbell and by a group of expert session-men, they license an album of great depth that will remain in the annals of this musical style, a must for all fans and fascinating for every good music lover.

Paolo BONFANTI, extraordinary blues guitarist, was until the '90 front man of Big Fat Mama with whom he recorded three LPs. In the early 90s he played with some "myths" of English Blues like Dick Heckstall-Smith and Mickey Waller in the band Downtown. Concert activity is unceasing, with its own band and in solo, all over Europe and the United States. He recorded 12 CDs under his name.
Martino COPPO, mandolin maestro, has been passionate about this instrument and the bluegrass style since the 1970s. In 1981 he joined Red Wine, a long-lived Genoese band of this musical genre, with which he toured in Italy, Europe and the USA. With Red Wine he recorded 6 albums.
