La Bella Poesia is an anthological album dedicated to the Sicilian poetic tradition, where two exceptional musicians and interpetes such as Ambrogio Sparagna and Mario Incudine propose a journey among some gems of island poetry to which an original musical robe has been associated. Fascinating melodies entrusted to the voices of Anvil and Sparagna and the instruments of the soloists of the Italian People's Orchestra of the Auditorium Parco della Musica, directed by Ambrogio Sparagna and pressing rhythms in support of the traditional lyrics present in the ethnographic collections of Lionardo Vigo (1799–1879), Giuseppe Pitrè (1841-1916), Salvatore Salomone Marino (1847–1916), and of the most recent compositions by Ignazio Buttitta (1899–1997), the most important dialect poet of the twentieth century and Andrea Camilleri , which offers his kind participation in this anthology in two exceptional pieces. In fact, she is the voice that describes Donna Lionora, a text taken from her novel The Revolution of the Moon, and above all the lyrics of Tempo, an unpublished song that closes, with great emotion, La Bella Poesia.
Sparagna comments on the work carried out: "Starting from the extraordinary voice of Mario Incudine and preserving its original dialect text and metric form, I composed a musical elaboration where an essential arrangement finds body, close to that sound ethnosphere to which this repertoire refers. Mario Incudine revived this variety of poetic images by restoring to ancient popular poetry its beauty. With an intense and dramatic voice it gives shape and regenerates these ancient songs dragging us on a journey back between images and sounds of a Sicily sometimes forgotten, a land of rare beauty and poignant passions".
