Mixing world music, rock and pop, Eleonora sings a repertoire from the Sicilian Gallo-Italic dialect of San Fratello, spoken by a small community of 3,500 people on the slopes of Etna vulcan. There are typical single-piston trumpets of the territory, the popular festivities, the dancehall, the anthropological essay. An explosive mix.

Nine original tracks ranging between world ,rock and pop : with strong sonorities and a dialect born in the 9th century for the first ever album in San Fratello's Galloitalic language, the Lombard dialect of Sicily, spoken by a small community on the edge of Etna's forests and facing the Aeolian Islands. A 'resistant' dialect for a record with contemporary sounds that mingle with the 'sgrigni' of the single-piston trumpets, model 1884, that characterise the music of this small Sicilian town.
This album, by the Paternò singer-songwriter ELEONORA BORDONARO, is entitled RODA ('She'). Nine original tracks, where electronics happily coexist with some traditional Sicilian instruments and with the trumpets of San Fratello around which Puccio Castrogiovanni, arranger and co-author of the music, has built an entire sound world.
A project rooted in history, through an Italian dialect spoken by no more than 3500 people concentrated in a small mountain village.
"The idea," says Eleonora Bordonaro, "was to bear witness to a language that fights to stay alive, to bear witness to it through the integration of the local traditional sound world with contemporary creativity. A project poised between folk festival, dancehall, anthropological essay, rock rally, comic strip and mystical vision.
Roda is also Adelasia del Vasto, a Sicilian queen, who led a journey of people and changed history. It is women who prepare the feast of men.
