This 2003 release is easily Anúna's most accessible and pastoral album. 'Behind the Closed Eye' was written entirely by Michael McGlynn. It contains a number of settings of poems by Francis Ledwidge, the Irish poet who died in the First World War when serving in the Bristish Army. The exquisite melody of 'Where All Roses Go' is offset against the shadings of the enigmatic track '1901', and the album as a whole is easily one of the most unusual collaborations available today between orchestra [The Ulster Orchestra] and voices.
