The first three CD’s constitute an anthology of the musical folklore of Lucania, the regions of Basilicata, Cilento, Valle del Sele and the Pollino in Southern Italy. This ample compilation consists of 100 pieces. The first album is dedicated to the zampogna, the bag pipes and the wind instrunents of the pastoral tradition: a rich archaic repertory of song and dance executed with various types of keyed zampogne, surdulina, ciaramelle, flutes, and clarinets. Recordings from 1981 to 1991.
