Recorded over two nights in the Black Box Galway, this live DVD is the first such from Sean Keane ..... a stunning performance featuring a host of the best of Ireland`s traditional musicans and dancers. Mairtin Jaimsie O`Flaithearta gives two dramatic readings, Fatima Alverez Fernandez provides a lesson in Spanish flamenco and singer Fionnuala Deacy makes her debut in the beautiful `Fare Thee Well Love`.
Songs are a mix of the very old and the very new- the common element is the beauty of the songs themselves and the presentation from Sean. Rousing tunes are brought even more alive by the dancing of the traditional old-style Cunningham Family - and the dyddling and `clicking`from Sean Keane and Sean Regan have to be seen to be believed!
The theme of the show is movement in and out of Ireland from the 5th century to the present day. Sometimes sad, but mostly happy and optimistic, the songs, dances and music take you on a whirlwind ride through Ireland`s past. An extensive notes section gives the background and historical place to each piece.
Extra features are a post-perfromance interview with Sean and members of the audience, on-screen booklet and on-screen extra information on the history of Irish travel and emigration.
