The project started with the meeting of two different approaches to the traditional repertoire of Emilia (Centre Italy). On one side there was the group Violini di Santa Vittoria, an ethnomusicological research, on the other Riccardo Tesi, musician that from over 20 years is renewing and reshaping the popular music of Italy. Together with saxophonist Claudio Carboni, they are presenting old tunes of the dance music of Liscio (dance music from Emilia) in a new setting to give new dignity to a music that in the years has almost vanished to be replaced by modern liscio (often a very cheap popular dance style)
