The stratified and hybrid sounds opening Anatomia, debut track of Sweet Limbo, are demonstrative of one of many currents through which FABIO BAROVERO expresses his art. His new work, outlining his previous Preghiere (2003), recorded under the pseudonym of Vero, is molded through contemporary sound making, electro acoustic and primitive ambient.

This is inclined to naturally accompany as movie and theatre sound track, dance, photography and video installations. Some of the compositions here present are fruit of commissions. This is a field that BAROVERO has widely worked for in the recent years being instinctively attracted by the genre and being himself a painter of sound atmospheres. The tracks composing Sweet Limbo feature an unquestionable sense of unity, even if composed in different moments and for different reasons. Anatomia boasts the kyl-kobyz sampling by Raushan Orazbaeva together with a piano gem by Ravel, these elements intertwine with Lorenzo Corti guitar and Federico Marchesano's double bass. Anatomia 2 is marked by Davide Rossi's violin and by a 'fading' structure moving inevitably towards the final disappearance. Requiem in Samba is part of the 'motion' by Alex Majoli, and the title, as BAROVERO personally confirms, wants to communicate 'the sensation of moving towards the inevitable death in a joyful way. To laugh and cry at the same time'. Fantasmi presents a sampled harp blended together with a bandoneon, while in Mutazioni is again Corti's guitar leading the role.
The noise in Off Broadway (the music for Off Broadway Magnum Photo New York exhibition, replicated by the biennial photography exhibition in Arles and at the Image and Sound Museum in Sao Paulo in Brazil, in Moscow, and at the PAC in Milan) has been edited countless of times to better fit the various surfaces of the art galleries. In this album the track Off Broadway has been remixed by Gionata Bettini. Double basses and violins are the core of La Pieta', a gloomy theme, evocative and wavy of digital incursions. The closing part of this album, bound to arouse enthusiasm, relies in the title-track Sweet Limbo: the distant echo of a recording by Afel Bocoum weds brilliantly the iterations of a out-of-tune piano.
