Five diatonic accordions, 10 hands, 50 fingers, five countries - an interplay of traditions and personalities, a mixed array of styles, unexpected delights and discoveries. Fifty agile fingers dancing up and down on the keys of these instruments they dote so much upon. Samurai, as they call themselves, have built up an ardent following for the wonders they perform on their squeezeboxes. Didier Laloy from Belgium, Bruno Le Tron from France, David Munnelly from Ireland, Riccardo Tesi from Italy and Markku Lepistö from Finland. Hang on to your hats, and prepare to run out of breath, panting with excitement at the music created by this frenzied fellowship of the bellows, swaying along to this melodious medley conjuring up an imaginary kingdom where the accordion reins supreme. Together, these individuals form an orchestra, a brass band, a wind band, a symphony, a polyphony. Rumbling basses, melodies linked together, overlapping, wildly enthusiastic rhythms. This is tantamount to a festival, a party atmosphere, a happy encounter that has been boldly contemplated between these five masters of the accordion. What an amazing musical experience in the midst of all this vitality.
