The tracks, in a genre that could be defined as classical-electronic-cinematic music and that the auctor defines Eremitaggi, or creative actions through wich "getting away from everything to get closer to everything", arise from the need to get a music close to the sacred side of existence, which dispenses "pietas" on the life consumed, on the places and on the resources lost or in progressive adandonment.Through the solitude and the sensitive language of one's emotions and pain, one withdraws from the world, to see it clear.

The third solo album by FABIO BAROVERO consists of 10 pieces composed with electronic material, double bass and violin strings. The album was recorded during 2018 in the Verosound studio, the musical atelier wanted and realized by Fabio Barovero on a strip of land surrounded by the river Dora, just outside Turin. The tracks, which the author defines Eremitaggi, or creative actions through which «getting away from everything to get closer to everything», arise from the need to obtain a music close to the
sacred side of existence, which dispenses pietas on the life consumed, on the places and on the resources lost or in progressive abandonment.

"In the age of the apparent elimination of distances," says Barovero, "through the solitude and the sensitive language of one's emotions and pain, one withdraws from the world to see it better".

In this retreat, which is ambition, musical and emotional research, we move forward to find the most intimate and absolute version of ourselves. The place that this album invites to explore, through the 10 hermitages, is that of a genre that could be defined as classical-electronic-cinematic music, for the influences of the composer, author in recent years also of different soundtracks for the cinema, and for the contributions of the musicians Federico Marchesano (double bass) and Simone Rossetti Bazzaro (violins).

"In the realization of this work, I tried to build a sacred setting in which to bring my music. I moved away as a hermit would do, a figure that seems distant from contemporanity, but that I feel close to me. Utopian maybe. It is so profoundly necessary for me that we all move away from the hyper-connected world, from the synthetic oxygen, and that we set out in the footsteps of a vital research, to discover then ourselves as more wild”.

FABIO BAROVERO works for cinema, television, radio and theater.
To his credit he has hundreds of shows, concerts, soundtracks, productions, and the participation as a composer, musician and producer, to dozens of recording projects in Italy and internationally. As a founding member of the historic Turin band Mau Mau, he is the author of 10 albums that have been toured with thousands of concerts, European festivals, compilations and soundtracks. Among the many collaborations, we remember those with Africa Unite, La Crus, Ivano Fossati, Vinicio Capossela, Arthur H, Cristina Zavalloni. He is co-author, producer and performer of the music of all the Saba Anglana albums, published in 60 ountries. He is the creator, producer and author of the Banda Ionica project, a recording adventure that led to the success of the revival of the traditional marching band genre in Europe and in the world. Barovero won the “Nastro d’Argento” award for the music of the film La Febbre by Alessandro D'Alatri and the "Carlo Savina Music Award" for the soundtrack of Dopo Mezzanotte, a very successful movie by Davide Ferrario. He composed the soundtrack for the world tour of the Off Brodway exhibition, held by the Magnum Photos agency.

He published three albums as a soloist: Preghiere (2003), in which he founded a very personal musical aesthetic between electronics and orchestral music scores, also making use of field recordings (voices of people practicing hatha yoga onMumbaybeach, the laments of a funeral in Luanda, rituals dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe in Chapas).
Sweet Limbo (2010), an album full of suggestions and visions in which BAROVERO draws an imaginary place of infinite possibilities, freed from the preoccupation of categories and sense of belonging, a secular eulogy to the open territory of the soul.
Eremitaggi (2018) is his new record.
