Mario Brai is an artist form Carloforte, Sardinia, that makes his tracks peculiar by using the ‘Tabarkinian’, the language of his beautiful land, one of the most beautiful Mediterranean places.
In addition to Mario Brai with his voice, his inseparable violin and his guitar, in this album a fundamental role is played by his companion from Sardionia and Italy such as Silvano Lobina (arrangements and guitars) the African musicians, Momar Gaye e Alassane Mbaye, voice and the djembè player, Riccardo Tesi with his melodeon, Marcello Peghin and his guitar Mauro Palmas with the soft and fine sounds of his mandoloncello and Massimo Ferra with his classical guitar, the Sunflower Quartet.

The mith of the seamen coming from Pegli (Liguria), that in the Sixteenth Century, escaping from Tabarka (an island in Tunisia), took refuge in a tiny piece of land, extreme west borderland of the S’ards’ region. Maghrebinian, Turkish, Greek, Jazzy notes and sounds are the heart of Mario Brai’s new work, entitled “Continuitè”, in which the references to the local little world of Carloforte are really strong. In addition to Mario Brai with his voice, his inseparable violin and his guitar, in this album a fundamental role is played by some of the best musicians from Carloforte, such as Battista “Dagnin” Dagnino (voice and buzuki), Stefano “Nielsa” Cherchi (Nielsa group’s voice), Antonello “Tuan” Aversano (bass), Mariangela Aste (voice) and Norino Pintau (voice). Also other talented musicians from all over the Sardinian island and beyond, highly regarded at an international level, joined this album: Andrea Ruggeri (percussions), Cristina Lanz (voice), Carlo Depau (guitar), Silvano Lobina (arrangements and guitars). Among them also two African musicians, Momar Gaye e Alassane Mbaye, by this time considered adopted as Sardinians, were respectively the voice and the djembè player of the song “Gh’èa ‘n erbu”. Further contributors to this album, considered as special guests, are some of the most important musicians of the international jazz scene, such as Riccardo Tesi, who made the song “Cuntinuitè” characterized by his accordion; Marcello Peghin and his guitar, who signed the tribute to Andrea Parodi “U Ruzòlu”; Mauro Palmas with the soft and fine sounds of his mandoloncello and Massimo Ferra with his classical guitar in Sinàn Capudan Pascià, in which performed also Luca Nulchis with his peculiar Harmonium; Francesca Corrias (voice); Pierpaolo Frailis (drums); Filippo Mundula (double bass) and Sandro Mura (piano) from the Sunflower Quartet. Moreover Frantziscu “Arrogalla” Medda, the musician and producer from Quartu Sant’Elena (Cagliari), one of the leading artist in the national and international experimental electronic music scene, whose style mixes Sardinian elements with electronic music, especially dub.
