Living Coltrane is a brave project began in 2009, hinged on the performance of some of the most loved John Coltrane's compositions like Syeeda’s Song Flute, The Inch Worm, After The Rain and others that Coltrane himself has made famous, such as My Favorite Things, Afro Blue, Say It.


Living Coltrane is a brave project began in 2009, hinged on the performance of some of the most loved John Coltrane's compositions like Syeeda’s Song Flute, The Inch Worm, After The Rain and others that Coltrane himself has made famous, such as My Favorite Things, Afro Blue, Say It. Coltrane pressed these tracks at the end of the Fifties and the beginning of the Sixties. all his musical topics - regarding the most impressive protagonists of jazz music in the second half of the twentieth century – there are musical languages which are distant both in geography and in history. They include: Indian music, African and Caribbean rhythms, complex melodies of European tradition and all are melted in a homogeneous group that gives space to pondering atmospheres, mystic melodies and moments of intense propelling power. The rhythmic and harmonic contexts of the quartet are sinuous, embracing and – even if their sound is different from the Coltranian ones – they are able to show, but not in an immediately evident way - a close affinity with the source of their inspiration.

Stefano "Cocco" Cantini (born in Follonica in 1956) began to play the clarinet when he was very young. Later on, he preferred the soprano sax and it has made him a specialist saxophonist.Stefano Cocco Cantini In his career, he has played with Chet Baker, Billy Cobham, Dave Holland, Billy Hart, Enrico Rava, Kenny Wheeler, Dave Liebman and many other famous artists all over the world. At the beginning of the Nineties, he was a member of Furio Di Castri's quartet and, in 1994/95, he played with Michel Petrucciani. For many years he has collaborating, in several dispositions, with the pianist Rita Marcotulli. He is one of the most requested Italian musician thanks to his commitment in recording studios and for his tours, but also for his melodic and pop soundtracks. In this sector, he has performed with Ray Charles, Phil Collins, the Italiands Laura Pausini Irene Grandi, Fiorella Mannoia and many others.
