The Biram is a typical instrument played by the Boudouma tribe of the nomad fishermen living along the shores of the Tchad lake, on the eastern Nigeria. The instrument is a kind of harp with 5 strings with a boat-shape. It is played toady but a new generation of masters with a very magic sound that takes the listeners back to the lake shores.
Today Malam Mamane Barka is the heir of the Boudouma rites and culture and he is bringing this instrument to new life.
Oumarou Adamou on percussion accompanies Barka in this musical journey with some peculiar Nigerian drums: Kalangou, Calebasse and Douma.
