Together they create the classic trio formation led by Gatto and play songs by Wayne Shorter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Eugene John Lees, Dewey Redman, Thelonius S Monk, Samuele Bersani, Beppe D'Onghia, Lucio Dalla and original music by Lanzoni, Evangelista and Gatto. ROBERTO GATTO debuted in 1975 with the Trio di Roma (Danilo Rea, Enzo Pietropaoli). He performed throughout Europe and the rest of the world with his groups and together with international artists. Formations on its behalf are characterized by an interesting musical research, an impeccable technique and a warm touch typical of the Mediterranean culture. This definitely makes Roberto Gatto one of the most interesting drummers and composers in Europe and the world. Various are his collaborations with European and American artists. ALESSANDRO LANZONI, is one of the most interesting personality of the new Italian jazz scene. "Best Young Soloist" in Paris in 2010, at the last edition of the Martial Solal International Prize (the most prestigious among the international competitions dedicated to jazz piano) has already established himself in the most important competitions in Italy (First Prize at " International Massimo Urbani Award 2006 "at the International Competition" Elba Jazz Contest 2008 "as the leader of" Teen Quartet "and competition" Luca Flores 2008 "Jazz Piano Performance of Florence). He became interested in jazz by listening to great pianists, from Art Tatum to Bud Powell until Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett, while completing his musical training in the classical realm, with studies in piano and cello. Alessandro has performed in the "key places for" jazz, establishing very soon as a leader, he can boast a significant international exposure, particularly in the United States, where he received unusually flattering reviews for a foreign musician.
GABRIELE EVANGELISTA, before devoting himself exclusively to jazz, between 2002 and 2007, Gabriele played in orchestras and chamber ensembles of classical music, also as a bass soloist. His jazz training began with the advanced course at Roma Jazz's Cool in 2008, where he had as teachers Scott Colley and Salvatore Bonafede and between 2008 and 2010, with master classes in Siena Jazz. Since 2010, Gabriele is the bass player of Enrico Rava's quintet "Enrico Rava tribe" and of the project "L'Opera Va", with whom he has performed numerous concerts in Italy and abroad. Since 2010, he plays in the new trio of Roberto Gatto together with Alessandro Lanzoni. Recently established is the quartet he shares with Alessandro Lanzoni, Francesco Diodati and Enrico Morello. He is also a regular member of Riccardo Zegna trio, of the P.O.V. quartet of Alessandro Paternesi, of the Mirco Rubegni quintet, of the Gori-Lanzoni quartet and of the new group of Ada Montellanico. Remarkable is his collaboration with the American guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel. Despite his young age, Gabriele, can boast a number of collaborations worth of a well established musician.
