It has long been Navras's intention to bring out archival recordings of this great and legendary maestro. To trace the evolution of his music from the early years of his career to the more recent period. Although we would have liked to have started in the 1950's these recordings are not yet made available to us. However, we shall start the process in the 1970's commencing this journey midstream as it were.
It is fascinating to notice the striking difference in style that evolved in the latter years from this earlier one. The vigour of a relatively younger age is apparent relative to a more reflective and pensive style in later years! Not much is known about the exact date or venue of this performance except that it was in the 1970's. Vilayat Khan performs Raga Bageshri and Shahana.
