This live album includes several of the most important Mediterranean voices, with the special contribution of the same Sardinian musicians that have been on Elena Ledda’s side for ever all over the world, such as Mauro Palmas, leading composer and artist in the Mediterranean musical scene with his peculiar tenor mandolas, Silvano Lobina on bass, Andrea Ruggeri on percussion, Marcello Peghin on guitar and Simonetta Soro, superb voice that has been researching for years on traditional and ancient music, of which she’s one of the most Italian experts and interpreters. Special guests in this live album are pianist Rita Marcotulli and the violinist Lina Cannavacciuolo. A unique live record carrying high suggestion with Sardinian, Arabic and Mediterranean traces dipped in sounds that cross traditional borders to discover new jazz territories. Elena Ledda, beautiful voice of Sardinia, in 2007 won the ‘Premio Tenco’ in the dialect-album section with her “Rosa Resolza”, recorded with Andrea Parodi for S’ardmusic label in co-production with Vandle99 and Jazz in Sardegna , and the prestigious “Premio Città di Loano” (Prize of the city of Loano, Liguria) as Best Album. This first work of the European Jazz Expo is the crowning achievement of a brilliant and successful career, devoted to Sardinia’s music and to its traditional sounds, open to music from all over the world and to stimulating contacts with different cultures coexisting in Mediterranean Sea.
